MAFIA police call box 3.jpg
Police call box 3, cops alertedThere was once a question of whether the call boxes were used. I\\\'m sure many players have seen it closer than this (I have - just outrun police and then follow them).

In this shot, we can see that the police were alerted after the call.

Police call box 2, callingThere was once a question of whether the police call boxes did anything. I\\\'m sure by now players have seen this close up (I have - just outrun patrolmen and then follow them).

In this shot the policeman is \\\"holding\\\" the phone. It may just be an animation without any model to accompany it.

Police call box 1, reachingThere was once a question of whether the police call boxes did anything. I\\\'m sure by now players have seen this close up (I have - just outrun patrolmen and then follow them). The scope was an easier way of getting the proof, though.

The police don\\\'t seem to *need* to use the boxes to alert necessarily, but there are probably some odd criteria for determining whether an alert happens. I can\\\'t recall if they use regular phone booths.

Original boxSo...I put this together in 2014 to show the box, by stitching together 4 full size photos so you can read it. Cool idea, but bad idea. The photo gallery REFUSED to accept the image size/pixel count. So I unwisely hosted it at photobucket where they compressed my image into the unreadable thumbnail you see here. But not before I got the full image to load on their site, making me think the picture would stay there.

I wish I kept the original, it sure looks cool.

MAFIA box contents reverseTim asked me what the contents of the U.S. box were. The reverse, a map of Lost Heaven. Also more about some random game and a very general idea of the manual layout. CD shown for scale.

MAFIA box contents obverseTim asked me what the contents of the U.S. edition of MAFIA were. On this side, a poster, the manual, and a card for...um...\\\"Conflict: Desert Storm.\\\" Very thematic for 2002, eh? CD 1 shown for scale. The CDs came in paper sleeves.
