Careful Where You Aim That RPG

Thought I would see how GTA IV ran on my PC. Although to all intents and purposes it should
run really well, but even with using -norestriction -nomemrestrict etc.. I still got a low FPS
even used Razer Game Booster as well.

Still have to say that GTA IV was one of the worst ports ever. In the benchmark test it says I have a Pentium III Xeon CPU as opposed to my Intel Core² Quad 8300.

Terribly optimised, it\'s a shame really - it could have been so good!

It is appauling, i had chip test it maxed out on his new GTX a few months back when he got the latest one. 30FPs max on the most powerful card out at that time.......

Could this be an electrical issue in England? I have a GeForce 650 GTX and an Intel Quad Core 9400, and there is no frame problems on my \"Puter\".

It\'s not that I don\'t have enough specs to run GTA IV as it was when ported a DirectX 9.0c game, I have DX10 RC and that works ok on XP. The thing is that GTAIV does not use the full utility of my PC. I have all the tweaks in the commandline added. Even my 460 GTX should be more than adequate to run it. But because it will not recognize my Quad CPU it does lag even with all settings turned down; I should not have to do this. Anyway finally completed the story, now just faffing around..

Its also because it was actually designed on console and it runs on a console engine, R* didnt even redo it its just a direct port with some tweaks Try turning shadows off it helps immensly, they are ugly as hell anyway in gta 4.

I overclocked my GPU and CPU and average between 39 and 43 FPS.............................sometimes
