That's possible, but it could be something like there not being enough paste or maybe the cooler just isn't mounted quite properly. _________________

Control + alt + delete
shows CPU usage as an average of all chips' usage.
Of course, overheating is overheating even if it were abnormally high usage.
The thermal paste is not relevant if you can't even get the heatsink off. By the way, if you end up messing with it, put some Arctic Silver on (a very thin, thin, layer) which will help the computer overheat from the heatsink faster rather than from the processor.  |
