I would like to make the models in the game with the reflection of the paint like the glowing of this cars:
merced500K_PROVOZ.4ds
speedster_PROVOZ.4ds
chema64_PROVOZ.4ds
fordt2_provoz.4ds
buik4_PROVOZ.4ds
hub01.4ds
if you put these models in scene2.bin and than play you can see the reflection

Very interesting, though I think these are Alpha reflections. 'Provoz' just means 'traffic' so I wonder what they intended by that.. for some reason 'hub01.4ds' isn't in my models folder though  _________________

I mean that i appreciate this kinda of the reflection,
I wish i could have a drivable car with this feature, i tryied with zmodeler opening a car file like hub01.4ds
And just use the body on a working model
For example: hudfor00.4ds
But it does not work it crashed |

Because the models are from Alpha they were built for the Hidden & Dangerous engine Mafia originally used, they'd have to be reconstructed to be used as they are in LS3D. _________________

I've mapped it onto a modern version of the 'hud01.4ds' model as a test - download this and tell me if you see the Alpha reflection

it doesn't work, but it blinks with a dark brown reflection
but if you high blend the texture you have a similar effect |

if you go in the settings of zmodeler you can choose if you want to have Multiple Textures(chrome) or
Always HighBlend(High Crome) |

it works partially i mean it creates this effect but rarely, i drive araund a bit and sometimes the effect appeared, i think you are extremely close to the solution
but i found something interesting
if you drive the modified car buikFor00.i3d or hudcou00.i3d
if you in the tunnel from central island to little italy before you go out of the tunnel the car has alpha reflection, i think it is connected to the position that sounds weird but actually is!!
by the way could you explain me how to insert alpha reflection?  |

That's interesting, it could be location or the light change from coming out of the tunnel sector, which has special lighting independent of the rest of the city.
I've looked into it further and sadly i'm not sure it's possible - the cars on the LS3D engine were altered from Alpha so as to run properly. The difference between the way BUIK4_PROVOZ.4ds and BUIKFOR00.4ds are mapped appears to be substantial. The two models had their individual reflections (ENV.bmp and ENVSTILL.bmp) applied differently, so it isn't just a case of changing the texture or applying it as a reflection map  _________________
