There is something about a showcase at the E3 convention
where approximately 20 minutes of gameplay will be shown
on June 14th 2015.

Hopefully there will be some direct free streaming of the E3
Convention online where you can watch other new games
coming up as well as Fallout 4.

Fallout 4 PC, *Xbox One and PS4* (*possibly) Exclusive

Well according to Forbes Fallout 4 will not come out on
either Xbox360 neither PS3.
Quote:
Fallout 4 Definitely Not Coming To Xbox 360 and PS3

We got our first, long-awaited look at Fallout 4 earlier
in the week, and while some are nothing short of
ecstatic about the opportunity to return to the
wasteland, others were a bit skeptical about what
looked like less than stellar visuals. This led to
speculation that the game was also being released
on Xbox 360 and PS3, even though neither were
listed in the official trailer. Bethesda wants to be
very clear: it’s not.

“It is not coming to 360 and PS3, the stuff we’re
doing will never work there,” Matt Grandstaff,
Bethesda global community manager said in a
neogaf thread. There really aren’t many other
ways of interpreting that.

As far as the visuals are concerned, Bethesda PR
Chief Pete Hines says that the game “looks amazing,”
and that he’s not spending any time or energy
thinking about the people complaining about the
visuals. Personally, I was a little surprised to see the
dog rendered in flat textures rather than 3D fur, but
I’ll reserve judgement until I see the final game.
Open world games like Fallout thrive on a sense of
scope, and we might see the graphics technology of
the Xbox One and the PS4 deployed on large-scale
spectacle rather than character models.

In-game cinematic trailers are a devil’s bargain, as
we’ve seen recently. People were disappointed in
perceived lacklustre visuals in the Fallout 4 trailer,
but people were also disappointed when an early
reveal trailer for The Witcher 3 included effects that
didn’t make it into the final game. My guess is that
we’ll get to see extended game-play sections of the
game at E3, which should give us a much better idea
of what it actually looks like in action.

Fallout 4 doesn’t have a release date, but some
since-removed listings on the Bethesda store
suggested that it might be coming before the end of
2015. I wouldn’t be surprised if that actually came true:
a sooner than expected release date would make for
one impressive end to Bethesda’s first-ever E3 press
conference, and they’ve certainly had a while to work
on the game. Fallout 4 will be set in Boston, and I can’t
wait to see more of it.

completely forgot to watch the showcase live...aaarrrgh! Oops!

but thanks to Bethesda they have posted the full showcase on Youtube.

This is about 2½ hours long.

Todd Howard (video game designer/producer and director)
for Bethesda announced that the game would be out on
November 10th this year (2015)

I saw the showcase for Fallout 4, and I was so amazed at what they had to offer with it! Very happy But, I'm afraid that the game might not be the same as it was in Fallout 3 and New Vegas with all the changes to format, layout and stats. PLUS! What will happen to mods with a voiced player!?
I'm still going to buy the Pipboy Edition though.

(I also hated that voice actor for the Vault Dweller Oops! )

Here's something interesting I found on
Polygon

Polygon wrote:
Fallout 4 players will be able
to continue exploring the post-apocalyptic Commonwealth,
and keep levelling up, after finishing the game's main story,
developer Bethesda Game Studios announced today on
Twitter.

In fact, Fallout 4 doesn't have a level cap at all, said
Bethesda:

You can read the full article by clicking on the link below
Fallout 4 has no level cap, and you can keep exploring
after the story ends

Preloading Fallout 4 in preparation for Tuesday.
Can't wait to start this game. Already have the
Season pass for all DLC's hopefully coming in
2016.

How much did I pay?

Well the standard game is retailed at £49.99
The DLC Season pass with ongoing updates around £30
I got the game for £27.99 and the Season Pass for £16.99

One thing I hope is that it won't be initially buggy like FO3
was; good game FO3 but them bugs were a pain until
they updated it.

Sometimes I wish developers would pre-patch or work
out the problems before releasing games, but hey-ho!

been playing for about 2 hours and hmm well
time will tell. Yeah call me gullible; should've
known better than to believe all the hype.

One bugbear although there will be others:
The loading screens that were promised
would be non existent are still there. Sarcastic

The reason I never pre-purchase games anymore without seeing a proper review first. The entire gaming industry nowadays is built on pre-orders. As long as you gain the hype, it doesn't matter how shallow the content is since you already have your money before any gamer is able to play -therefore review- it, possibly spreading negative feedback.

Content is far from shallow tbh. Gameplay is not knockout
but it is good. Running the game on ultra, no problem.
My disappointment is that the devs promised no loading
screens. May be they'll issue this perk with the DLC's Laughing

It is very much a slightly upgraded graphics on FO3 although
quests are different but it is the same enemy ai so nothing
different really.

...still yet those damned loading screens Impossible

Shallow wasn't really the right word in this context. I was more generally speaking. Whistling

So far I'm hearing positive comments about the game. If the WaB guy has also made a video about it I'll consider buying it for PC.

No problem Rob Smile

Mack has made a couple of gameplay videos on
his Mackscorner channel; nothing in worth a buy
as of yet though.

He released his video 2 days ago:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3nuMwmgdg4

A great review if you ask me. Perfectly summarizing both the good and bad issues without being afraid of the fanboy army.

Despite it's flaws, I couldn't resist getting the game as I was unable to play the previous fallouts.

I really like the game so far. Although the graphics are not next-gen-ish, they are really pleasing and not bad at all in my opinion. I prefer pleasing graphics any time over photo realistic -but bland- graphics.
The crafting bit is also really cool and I like how people can join your camp. It's something I have been missing in every single survival game to date. It always felt completely isolated. E.G. adding chairs and beds in many games usually serves no purpose, here you can see the people utilizing it. It makes the game feel so much more alive.

Something that did annoy me though was the game settings, or lack thereof. I spent a few hours digging in configuration files just to get the game running properly. Starting with the absence of a FOV slider. Really? I want to crank that stuff up to 110 degrees, otherwise I feel like I'm looking through a damn binocular. Without joking, it seriously gives me nausea if the FOV is too low. Luckily I fixed it, but I felt like I was doing a job Bethesda was supposed to do. I should be paid for this. Also the Vsync and framerate caused me to get stuck when exiting terminals. Again, I needed a PhD in order to figure out how to solve this.
So yeah, Bethesda should fire the guy who was responsible for the settings menu this instant.

Yeah I too am liking the game, but have to agree about
the controls; although you can remap the keys but I do
wish they had stuck to the way they worked in Fallout 3

The lack of skills and not being able to increase via XP
points, yeah I miss those. The graphics well they aren't
bad, but it is so obvious with the rig you need that they
were geared for consoles and the game was not optimized
properly for PC.

There is a way of changing the FOV and to remove mouse
acceleration, but turn off VSync which stifles the framerates

Did you read the fixes: *tweak guide*
There is also a config tool from Nexus Mods *here*

Not sure what your thoughts on the graphics mod, for me it
was o..k'ish but found it a bit sepia-ish if you know what I mean

Personally I still think the PC version should have been a full
dedicated version for PC and not a console port. Maybe it
would have been better if we who play on PC's etc should
have waited, but Bethesda wanted to get this out and make
their money.

Patches 2, 3, 4.... on their way (yeah right) Joker

Another issue is the slider controls for audio, display
...hmm well yes you can alter them and on pressing
ESC it says saving. However once you exit the game
and restart again they are back to where they were
before you changed them. I for one find music while
playing a bit overwhelming; some of it is ok but when
it builds up to a crescendo you cannot hear where
enemies are and location is helpful in this game.

I'd be interested in what Geran has to say about
Fallout 4, or anyone else who has the game; gets
a bit two sided with just Rob and myself discussing
this.. Laughing.

haha they are all too invested in the game Wink

Meanwhile I have installed my first mod as well, the darker nights one. Because the world didn't seem dark at all. I want some contrast at night between the outside world and the save environment of my camp.

2 things I find odd about the story; for a 200+ years deserted place that was wiped by a nuclear blast, structures still look remarkably well preserved and left in place. If you take a look at The Last Of Us, that world looks way more decayed and is only 20 years ahead. Seeing how fast things decay in reallife (There was a shed behind my house that was abandoned since 1984 and looked in lot worse conditions) You would expect the world to be less 'recognizable'. Still, not an issue. Just a bit weird.

Also the protagonist seems to be awfully comfortable in a world that changed completely for him/her in just a matter of minutes for the person's perception. spouse dead, kid gone, everyone he/she knows gone, the whole world gone, house gone. phew, I would go insane. Sticking out tongue

For shits 'n giggles, some shots from my base:

I'm surprised how well the pathfinding for the npc's work most of the time. They are able to navigate all the way up to the tower.
And yeah, it does happen one gets stuck behind a simple wall sometimes.

Btw, did you also completely clean out the area by scrapping every single object for resources? Sticking out tongue
