May I present this articulated gas piston monitor arm...

The Wali GSM001. So it SOUNDED like a great idea and didn't cost much. But my god does the monitor jump around a lot. Any little thing makes it jiggle around. I hate that.

Plus, adjustments are quite difficult. There's a lot of flexing before it changes position, and then it usually isn't quite right. The tension on the piston and clamp joint (tilting forward, back and 360 degrees) seems really high to get it to stay. And I sort of messed up the default mount when I removed it. sigh...

I just wish the screen wouldn't jiggle so much. I don't think so!

The Scythe Kotetsu SCKTT-1000!

Amazing numbers on this towering beast of a heatsink. Plus it has speed control (4 wire) via BIOS. I have a BIOS; my computer is from 2010 Sad

Anyway, it will replace a...Zalman copper thing that seems unable to keep the system cool at load no matter what speed I fix it at (via resistor; cannot be adjusted like a 4 wire fan can with a sensor). So what happens at load is it will go up to Intel's limit. That would be 210 degrees (99c). Surprisingly the thing has not blown up.

But it does get too damn hot, and it will throttle to not exceed 210 degrees, which is why this fan.

My computer maintenance only goes as far as installing memory (RAM)
soundcards (if there is a slot to do so) and graphics card. Never really
had the courage to install CPU let alone a heatsink; wouldn't even attempt
putting in a new MOBO.

You'll have to let us know if the new heatsink has improved CPU cooling.
