Hi dwapar, I have moved this to Mafia 1 Help.

It is possible that the flashing could be to do with the refresh rate
of your monitor. Sometimes I noticed when playing Mafia CoLH there
was flashing especially when driving at the rear of cars. Trouble is that
when the game first came out the top graphics card of that time was
the Geforce 4600/4800 and Radeon 9800 Pro, also it was originally in 4:3
format and was never a widescreen game. When I had my old PC I had an
Athlon XP CPU 1.47GHz, 2 Gig of DDR RAM and an NVidia Geforce 4600.
The first time I played M1 I had no problems with flashing. Now that I have
a better system with quadcore CPU, 4GB DDR2 RAM and a GTX460...the
game sometimes has these flashes.

You could try as I suggested using a higher refresh rate, depending what
your monitor will allow. Also updating graphics cards drivers may help.
Unfortunately I do not have Windows 7...bit of an old fogey, still have XP. Laughing

I had this problem. Disable Hardware T&L in setup; that should help.

(I also have "multipass rendering," and "clip always" off, probably just me experimenting, but we all have powerful computers for MAFIA and don't need the help)

Oh yes...and whatever he said ↑ Laughing

I forgot about the Hardware T&L, I tended not to alter stuff there
due to thinking it would make the game not look so nice. Mind you
I have not played the game for well over a year and a half now.
