Renderer settings gui:
By lines:
billboarding: enabled / disabled
alpha textures: disabled / filled / standard
sectors: filled / wireframe / disabled
hidden meshes (by scene2.bin node or wcol name): filled / wireframe / disabled
lighting: no lights, lightmap level: 1 / max lights ( 8 ), lightmap level: 2, disabled shading (no shaders, fixed gpu pipeline)
fog: enabled / disabled
lighting: max lights ( 8 ), lightmaps enabled / max lights ( 8 ), disabled lightmaps / no lights, disabled lightmaps:
Lighting settings:
from left top to right bottom: max lights receieved by mesh, from 0 to 8,
bottom: used lightmaps:
Left: diffuse,
right: no diffuse:

yes, this is last public alpha version - year old.
when i offer some new functions for game editing, i'll make public editor update.

Occluders and areas rendering.
Areas are used for city_music, ambient sounds, ispointinarea command, etc...
Note: In right bar is occluder rendering set to "fill" and area to "wireframe".

Looks 'swell so far. And are there any similarities between the areas in LS3D and the ZONE file in the GTA games?
Oh and another thing: Any progress on the 3D formats (i.e. .4DS and the like)? Will we be getting an import/export tool for 3DS Max soon? |

4DS import/export is already possible and has been for years via a plugin by Mr F. _________________

maybe, i'm thinking about .obj format import. it's not so complicated like 3ds

I'm actually referring to the 3DS Max application, not the .3ds format lol. And what about pedestrian models?
@AsaSK - I know Mr. F did a plugin/script for Max but it's kinda' limited and for some reason I couldn't import vehicles and the like properly. |

Nothing.
3DS Max is a modeling software package to create, animate and render 3D models. LS3D sandbox is -as the name says- a sandbox editor for Mafia. Purely meant to create and edit worlds within Mafia's engine.
Whereas 3DS max can create and manipulate geometry, the sandbox editor can implement these models into a workable scene with lights, scripts, sounds and anything else to combined.
@djbozkosz,
Impressive work as always. If you would ever implement an .obj importer that would be amazing. Very time saving for all of us.
But are OBJ files not having any trouble with combining textures? _________________

And I'm very concerned about the number of FPS on your sreens
