Hey all,

I've decided to open this topic in order to attract some discussion about, well, movies and cinema in general. If there are any movie buffs around who just love to share bits and parts from their favorite pieces or are dying to present a new trailer to the world, this would be the place to share it.

As for me, my favorite movie to look forward to in the next couple of months has to be this one, even though it is an indie:

I like this movie because it deals with the EARLY mafia in America

Marazella, Masseria and the Castlemarasse war

it has some glaring errors (mostly dramtizations) but over all it is very good and a good representation of the Mob in that era....before the commission, before the 5 families (and the forming of both by Lucciano)

Oh i know this. Have seen it on TV when i was a kid and although it is a TV movie, so not very impressive cast-wise and from a directorial standpoint it is enjoyable and it helped spur my passion for Mafia at an early age. Good piece of cinema.

What do you think of my trailer above?

Don't have a trailer and this has not come out yet.
Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese have been
working on another Crime movie about the story
of Frank 'The Irishman' Sheeran who had 25
kills under his belt including that of Jimmy Hoffa

The film "The Irishman" based on the book "I Heard
You Paint Houses" (first published 2003 then 2005)
by Charles Brandt was anounced sometime in 2008
and again 2010. Let's hope this materializes.

For old gangster movies there are quite a few good ones
from the 1930s. One I have just finished watching is
"The Roaring Twenties" 1939

starring:
James Cagney as Eddie Bartlett
along with Humphrey Bogart

A typical story of prohibition, the rise of bootlegging and
gangsters. Bartlett rises to the top owning a series of
illegal booze outlets, distribution and has a taxi firm as
a front. He partners with his one time war companion
George Hally played by Bogart.. the ending of course
sees the end of prohibition and the end of the bootlegging
rackets.. I will say no more than this, but the acting is first
class and Cagney gives a good performance.

*Bump*

Cobwebs dusted away...

OK another movie in the gangster genre

This was James Cagney's 2nd film although
he was the co-star along with Lew Ayres.
