MattyDienhoff's Car Guide
Bolt
The largest car brand, in the earlier missions 90% of the traffic consist of Bolt vehicles. There are 3 standard models, the Ace, Model B and V8; and then some extras which we'll go through later.
Bolt Ace
The Bolt Ace has a lot of distinctions. It's the cheapest, lightest, slowest, and easiest to destroy of all the vehicles in the game. It also has the fewest number of gears and the smallest engine. It's considered by most to be the worst car in the game. But it'll do for simple travel.
Gearbox: two-speed (pedal operated)
Weight: Approximately 800KG (varies with model)

Colors: 5 (Blue, Dark Blue, Brown, Green & Red)
Varieties: 6 (Fordor, Tudor, Touring, Runabout, Pickup, Coupe)
Weak Spot: Front Grille
Crash Protection: Very Poor
Unlocked After: Molotov Party

Notes about the Bolt Ace: The fifth color, red. Is a rarity in the unmodded game. You generally only see them in the city when they're unaccessible to you.
(e.g. you see them in the city below during the mission 'The Whore', and during 'Running Man' before you learn to steal them.)
The Bolt Model B
The Bolt Model B is one step up from the Bolt Ace, it's a standard car and very common early on in the game. These are decent transport, but are not at all suitable for a car chase or any situation where they're likely to take a lot of punishment, because they are somewhat fragile. These come in several varieties.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: Approximately 950-1075KG (varies with model)
Power: 40 HP
Engine: Four Cylinder
Top Speed: 70 MPH
Colors: 4 (Brown, Red, Green, Dark Blue)
Varieties: 7 (Fordor, Tudor, Cabriolet, Roadster, Pickup, Coupe, Delivery)

***SPOILER***
Notes about the Bolt B: Some of your colleages in the mission 'You Lucky Bastard" use one of these to ram a Lassiter V16 Fordor onto the train tracks, how a 1,075KG Bolt B Fordor can ram at low speed (probably around 12MPH) and push a 2,812KG Lassiter which has its brakes on is beyond me.
The Bolt V8
The Bolt V8 is a decent vehicle, a mid-range model and the first car available with an 8-cylinder engine. It has okay speed and sounds more powerful than it's predecessors.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: Approximately 1170KG (varies with model)
Power: 65 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 86 MPH
Colors: 4 (Green, Red, Blue, Black)
Varieties: 5 (Fordor, Coupe, Roadster, Touring, Tudor)
Weak Spot: Front Grille & Sides of Engine Compartment
Crash Protection: Moderate
Unlocked After: A Trip to the Country

Notes about the Bolt V8: In 'Great Deal' Morello's gangsters drive these cars, you can aim for the front grilles to easily destroy them and kill surrounding gangsters. Also, the gangsters cars are "fixed" in the car chase part of the mission and accelerate much faster than is normally possible. For this reason it's nearly impossible to outrun the gangsters.
Falconer
Not really a brand, since there is only one model which is also named the Falconer, which comes in three varieties. This car is very significant, it's the first car you get to drive in the missions, the first car with a 4-speed gearbox you acquire, it's the default car in Freeride and is used in several cutscenes. It's also found on the streets for longer than any other car. (As the years wear on during the missions other old cars accompanying it gradually disappear but the Falconer remains.)
Falconer
The first good car you get, good all around. Strong, nice to drive, and relatively fast. The 'Gangster' variety is simply the same car but black colored, this is the car gangsters drive in Freeride.
Gearbox: four-speed (mechanical)
Weight: 1,520KG
Power: 65 HP
Engine: Six Cylinder
Top Speed: 89 MPH
Colors: 2 (Blue, Violet)
Varieties: 3 (Standard, Yellowcar Taxi, Gangster)
Weak Spot: Front Grille

***SPOILER***
Notes about the Falconer: If you find the secret in the mission "Molotov Party" the Falconer will be unlocked then, but if you miss it you will have to wait until the mission "The Whore" to acquire it.
Schubert
A main competitor to the Bolt, in the early missions there are only three car brands on the road, and this is one of them. (the other two are Falconer and Bolt) All of the Schubert models have six-cylinder engines, so perhaps that's where they get their model names, Six and Extra Six. Vehicle of choice of police officers and police detectives.
Schubert Six
A mid-size sedan which is pretty heavy. Average in the performance department. Has a quiet engine which is nice for cruising.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 1,346KG
Power: 46 HP
Engine: Six Cylinder
Top Speed: 77 MPH
Colors: 4 (Red, White, Black, Police)
Varieties: 2 (Standard and Police)
Weak Spot: Front Grille

Schubert Extra Six
Another mid-size sedan which is also pretty heavy. The descendant of the Six, same concept, better performance. This is also the default police car for most of the game.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 1,346KG
Power: 85 HP
Engine: Six Cylinder
Top Speed: 99 MPH
Colors: 4 (Green, White, Blue, Police)
Varieties: 4 (Fordor, Tudor, Police Fordor, Police Tudor)
Weak Spot: Front & Sides of Grille
Crash Protection: Good
Unlocked After: Omerta

Schubert Extra Six Tudor Police
Seats: 2

Notes about the Schubert Extra Six: The Fordor model of the Extra Six has two tail-lights, but the Tudor has only one. Strangely enough, this order is reversed with the police versions, and the Fordor has one tail-light and the Tudor two. See picture below. (Click thumbnail for larger picture)
Crusader
Crusader Chromium
Another standard car, similar to the Schubert Extra Six. A solid performer, but a bit slow off the start. Solid and loud. A good 'chase' car.
Gearbox: three-speed (mechanical)
Weight: 1,500KG
Power: 85 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 101 MPH
Colors: 2 (Blue, Violet)
Varieties: 3 (Fordor, Tudor)
Weak Spot: Rear
Crash Protection: Good
Unlocked After: Happy Birthday

Guardian
Guardian Terraplane
Another standard car. Similar to the Crusader Chromium and Schubert Extra Six. The Guardian is powerful, but somewhat heavy and solid. It's a bit slow off the start, but once it gets going it has a decent top speed. They're also surprisingly difficult to destroy with gunfire, making this a good choice for a car chase.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 1,316KG
Power: 101 HP
Engine: Six Cylinder
Top Speed: 101 MPH
Colors: 3 (Umber, Beige, Black)
Varieties: 3 (Fordor, Tudor Coupe)
Weak Spot: Front Grille

Wright
Wright
Yet another standard car. The Wright is the heaviest non-luxury car in the game. It's weighty, powerful, strong and pretty fast. Unfortunately, the weight means acceleration suffers.
Gearbox: four-speed
Weight: 1,600KG
Power: 141 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 114 MPH
Colors: 3 (Blue, Red, Green)
Varieties: 3 (Fordor, Coupe, Gangster)
Weak Spot: Rear
Crash Protection: Good/Very Good (for coupe and sedan respectively)
Unlocked After: Election Campaign

Lassiter
This proud luxury range are the largest cars in the game. The largest of them weighing in at 2,812KG; they're big, they're fast, and they're stylish. Perfect gangsters' rides.
Lassiter V16 Fordor
One of the fastest of the bunch, this car is almost as heavy as a flatbed truck, yet manages to pull that weight along faster than most lighter cars, courtesy of it's huge engine. It's powerful, fast, stylish and roomy. The handling is passable, and the brakes do the job, but remember it takes a little bit longer to stop than you're used to.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 2,812KG
Power: 230 HP
Engine: Sixteen Cylinder
Top Speed: 114 MPH
Colors: 1 (Green)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Front Grille
Crash Protection: Very Good
Unlocked After: Just for Relaxation
Seats: 4
Traffic Signals: yes
Construction: hard-top
Lassiter V16 Phaeton
The first bonus car you get from Lucas Bertone. The slowest in the Lassiter range but still powerful enough, the Phaeton is a great touring car, and has surprisingly nice handling for it's size. Great for cruises in the country.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 2,650KG
Power: 185 HP
Engine: Sixteen Cylinder
Top Speed: 97 MPH
Colors: 1 (Yellow)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Front Grille
Crash Protection: Good
Unlocked After: Fairplay
Seats: 4
Traffic Signals: yes
Construction: open-top
Lassiter V16 Roadster
The boat-tail roadster. The Don's car in the mission Bon Appetit. Sturdy and fast, and a little less prone to spinning out than the four-door varieties of the V16. The open-top construction means you're more exposed to damage from gunfire and car accidents though.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 2,500KG
Power: 204 HP
Engine: Sixteen Cylinder
Top Speed: 109 MPH
Colors: 1 (Green)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Front Grille
Crash Protection: Good
Unlocked After: Bon Appetit
Seats: 2
Traffic Signals: yes
Construction: open-top
Lassiter V16 Charon
A nice last ride, just make sure you're driving it not riding shotgun. (pardon the pun) It's similar to the V16 Phaeton in performance, but it has more body-roll, feels a bit lighter and has worse brakes. Still, it's a nice novelty car.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 2,650KG
Power: 185 HP
Engine: Sixteen Cylinder
Top Speed: 97 MPH
Colors: 1 (Black)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Front Grille
Crash Protection: Good
Unlocked After: The Whore
Seats: 2
Traffic Signals: yes
Construction: open-top (see notes for more information)
Notes about the Lassiter V16 Charon: Technically, it has got an open top on the drivers compartment, but in the event of a roll-over, the solid roof of the 'coffin-compartment' is what makes contact with the road, not your head. This spares your life.
Lassiter V16 Appolyon
"A collectors piece... more a work of art than a car" -Lucas Bertone
A unique roadster with a custom body. Presumably built from the standard V16 Roadster base, this one is a lot faster, and looks a lot different obviously. Very fast, but being one of the longest cars in the game, handling suffers dramatically; expect to make 3-point turns to get around tight corners.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 2,500KG
Power: 230 HP
Engine: Sixteen Cylinder
Top Speed: 122 MPH
Colors: 1 (White)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Front Grille & Rear
Crash Protection: Good
Unlocked After: Election Campaign
Seats: 2
Traffic Signals: yes
Construction: open-top
Lassiter V16 Police
Except for the police logo, and armor-plating; this is very similar to the civilian version, the V16 Fordor. Unfortunately, the traffic police don't usually drive these, and they only chase you when you attain a wanted level in certain missions.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 2,812KG
Power: 230 HP
Engine: Sixteen Cylinder
Top Speed: 114 MPH
Colors: 1 (Grey)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: N\A
Crash Protection: Very Good
Unlocked After: Just for Relaxation
Seats: 4
Traffic Signals: yes
Construction: hard-top
Notes about the Lassiter V16 Police: Interestingly, this car uses a completely different siren sound to the other three police cars. Of course, you rarely hear it since this police car is so rare, but if you want you can switch the sounds in the game files so the other police cars use this one.
Ulver
Ulver Airstream
"It's the first line of cars with an aerodynamic form..." -Lucas Bertone
An okay car, but it has it's problems. It spins out easily at high speeds and has more body roll than most other cars. But when controlled correctly it show's some potential. The aerodynamic design caters for a surprisingly good top speed.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 1,550KG
Power: 130 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 100 MPH
Colors: 2 (Yellow, Blue)
Varieties: 2 (Fordor, Tudor)
Weak Spot: Rear
Crash Protection: Good
Unlocked After: A Trip to the Country

Thor
A small brand with only two models, the 810 and 812, the first FWD cars you get. Good looking and great to drive.
Thor 810
"A minor technical revolution... it's front wheel drive, you see." -Lucas Bertone
A nice car, no doubt about it, a bit on the weighty side, but fast and with decent acceleration. The front-wheel drive means the turning circle is wider than usual though.
Gearbox: four-speed
Weight: 1,656KG
Power: 125 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 110 MPH
Colors: 2 (Orange, Black)
Varieties: 2 (Sedan, Phaeton)
Weak Spot: Rear
Crash Protection: Moderate\Good (the sedan is safer than the phaeton due to the hardtop)
Unlocked After: Omerta
Thor 810 Sedan
Seats: 4
Traffic Signals: rear
Construction: hard-top
Thor 810 Phaeton
Seats: 2
Traffic Signals: rear
Construction: soft-top
Notes about the Thor 810: The secondary color, black, is rare for the Thor 810, the Phaeton is only seen in black twice (in Lucas' garage in "Omerta" and on the street outside in "Election Campaign - Old Prision"), and the Sedan never appears in black at all, except in the carcyclopedia.
Thor 812 Cabriolet
"The accelerator is much better. Even if, at first sight, the car looks the same" -Lucas Bertone
Another great car, pretty small and very fast. It has some of the best acceleration of any of the cars, but the brakes are a little weak, so don't expect to stop this 1,814KG speedster in a big hurry.
Gearbox: four-speed
Weight: 1,814KG
Power: 170 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 119 MPH
Colors: 2 (Orange, Black)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Rear
Crash Protection: Moderate
Unlocked After: Death of Art

Silver Fletcher
Silver Fletcher
A fancy car if there ever was one. This is the limousine of Lost Heaven. Ride around in style! It's not quite as fast as the sportscars, but almost as fast as the Lassiter V16 Fordor and quite resistant to bullets and car accidents. This is Morello's favourite car.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 2,314KG
Power: 175 HP
Engine: Twelve Cylinder
Top Speed: 117 MPH
Colors: 1 (Silver)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Rear
Crash Protection: Very Good
Unlocked After: Visiting Rich People
Silver Fletcher
Seats: 4

Bruno
Bruno Speedster 851
A great speedster, it's fast, looks great, and has excellent handling even at high speed. This car is just beautiful to drive.
Gearbox: three-speed, two modes
Weight: 1,702KG
Power: 150 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 122 MPH
Colors: 3 (Silver, Red, Green)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Front and Rear (engine and gas tank)
Crash Protection: Moderate
Unlocked After: You Lucky Bastard
Bruno Speedster 851
Seats: 2
Traffic Signals: yes
Construction: open-top
Notes about the Bruno Speedster 851: The third color, green, is extremely rare. You only see it in the carcyclopedia. It's not used in Free Ride Extreme, it's not used in the story missions, and you certainly never see it in Free Ride. (click thumbnail for bigger picture)
Celeste
Celeste Marque 500
The most beautiful roadster on the road. Period. This car is lovingly built inside and out. A steady performer, it has a revvy engine and a 4-speed gearbox. The creme da la creme of the sports cars.
Gearbox: four-speed
Weight: 1,200KG
Power: 160 HP
Engine: Six Cylinder
Top Speed: 122 MPH
Colors: 2 (White, Bronze)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Front (engine)
Crash Protection: Moderate
Unlocked After: Creme da La Creme
Celeste Marque 500
Seats: 2
Traffic Signals: yes

Notes about the Celeste Marque 500: The second color, bronze, is very rare. You only see it in the carcyclopedia and in one of the Free Ride Extreme missions, it's not used in the story missions, and you certainly never see it in Free Ride. (click thumbnail for bigger picture)
Trautenberg
A small marque of racing oriented cars, the Model J is a road car but has a racing background, apparently.
Trautenberg Model J
A huge, fast, powerful and stylish sports car. The Model J is one of the fastest cars on the road, but it's size means navigating tight streets can be difficult, and it's handling leaves a bit to be desired. High-speed cornering in one of these is not for the faint-hearted.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 1,700KG
Power: 265 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 128 MPH
Colors: 1 (Red)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Front (engine)
Crash Protection: Moderate
Unlocked After: Moonlighting
Trautenberg Model J
Seats: 2
Traffic Signals: yes
Construction: open-top
Trautenberg Racer 4WD
A slightly outdated racer, it's a bit slower than some of the other racing cars, but still hauls itself along faster than almost any road car.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 877.5KG
Power: 150 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 139 MPH
Colors: 1 (Red)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Anywhere
Crash Protection: Very Poor
Unlocked After: FRE Racecar Switch Mission
Trautenberg Racer 4WD
Seats: 1
Traffic Signals: no
Construction: open-top
Notes about the Trautenberg Racer 4WD: Racing cars, not being designed for road use, have no headlights, no horn, no indicators and lose control on bumps easier than other cars. Remember that they're open and have little crash protection, accidents hurt.
Brubaker
Brubaker 4WD
One of the more up to date racing cars, this is the one you're stuck in during the race mission, it does it's job well as a racing car, but is not so suitable for the road.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 1100KG
Power: 300 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 152 MPH
Colors: 1 (White)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Anywhere
Crash Protection: Very Poor
Unlocked After: FRE Racecar Switch Mission

Construction: open-top
Notes about the Brubaker 4WD: Racing cars, not being designed for road use, have no headlights, no horn, no indicators and lose control on bumps easier than other cars. Remember that they're open and have little crash protection, accidents hurt.
Carrozella
Carrozella C-Otto 4WD
One of the better racecars - it's about on par with the Brubaker. It's fast and it handles well on the track. But once again, it's not so good on the road.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 950KG
Power: 300 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 144 MPH
Colors: 2 (Blue, Green)
Varieties: N\A
Weak Spot: Anywhere
Crash Protection: Very Poor

Caesar
Caesar 8C 2300 Racing
Another racecar, this one is fairly unremarkable. It's passably fast for a racecar, but it can't quite keep up with the Carrozella or the Brubaker and at the same time, the handling feels too stiff and a bit unstable at times.
Gearbox: four-speed
Weight: 920KG
Power: 178 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 140 MPH
Colors: 1 (Red)
Varieties: N\A

Caesar 8C Mostro
This is a truly beautiful car. As the road-going sibling of the Caesar 8C 2300 racecar; it's fast, but it also has beautiful styling and far nicer handling, smooth yet firm. This car is perfect for zipping in and out of traffic or navigating tight country roads at high speeds. It's the ultimate sportscar. The only downside is the car protects you very little in a crash because of it's open design; but really, with it's near-perfect road-holding you have little excuse for having an accident in the first place.
Gearbox: four-speed
Weight: 1000KG
Power: 142 HP
Engine: Eight Cylinder
Top Speed: 116 MPH
Colors: 2 (Red, Black)

Other
Not really a brand, but a category. Other contains the trucks and various other service vehicles (all of which are Bolts, incidentally, adding to an already huge range). The service vehicles are mostly for appearance's sake in the city, but are sometimes used in the missions.
Bolt Ambulance
An emergency vehicle. This is basically just a stretched Bolt B Delivery with a new paintjob and flashing lights. It appears in the city in Free Ride and in some missions.
Gearbox: three-speed
Weight: 950KG
Power: 40 HP
Engine: Four Cylinder

... good luck with it

Nice job with what you have so far Matty

I'm going to be continuing it later today, next up is the Bolt B range.
