Mafia on Windows 10

Has anyone attempted to run mafia 1 on windows 10 or any of the modding programs such as mwe? A few months ago I installed mafia onto a windows 10 computer but absolutely nothing made it work, no compatibility modes nothing. Windows will stop providing updates to windows 7 soon, but I intend to keep the computer running, but life would be much easier if I could just just make the switch to windows 10, the only reason I'm not switching is because of mafia. What platform do most of you guys use if there is no way to play it on windows 10? Thanks for any help.
