You were spotted by the guards

Moonlighting:

Got to the bank first time and entered. Listened to
Paulie's plans for the heist and then he says "lets
go!" (no weapons drawn, no unusual behavior).
We then start to walk calmly out of the bank
when the guards start to fire at us for no reason.

Mission fails with "You were spotted by the guards"
Now I have played this mission many many times
and this is the first time I have come across this!
