Hey there mafia scene modders! I found this really interesting thing that happens when you take the game over screen away at a certain level. Here's the video: https://youtu.be/YHx5xDAGZiI I wanted to get your thoughts on the matter to see what's causing this to happen.

Ultimately it's difficult to say what causes this or whether it's intentional to some degree without doing a deep dive into the mission scripts (and possibly the game code). I guess it's a bug, though as the mission is not really meant to be played this way as far as I'm aware. From what I know killing an NPC deletes its underlying actor instance so maybe this causes the mission/cutscene script to erroneously reference that oil box/canister frame/actor instead.

That being said it looks like it's sufficient to kill the two bodyguards guarding the councillor's room. Maybe killing one of them would do, too but that's a bit more involved to test as the other bodyguard eventually starts to attack the player.

Why do you need a patch to disable the game over screen? In my experiments it did not pop up even if I caused turmoil before the councillor's speech. I tested with v1.0.

By the way, what's the name of the tune that's played in the intro of the video?
