Is there a way to use the old patches even though my game runs through Steam?
I now tried to install the v1.2 patch that I used to play many years ago (without steam), but it gives me this error, "Registry entry not found. Mafia not installed. Cannot install patch."
I love this game, and I think I have got to the point where I don´t have nothing much to mess around or to discover...
Thanks! |

The Steam version should be v1.2 but in case you want to give it a try anyway you can install patches manually by extracting the corresponding installers with 7-Zip/WinRAR and replacing the files from your installation accordingly. You should also be able to downgrade the version this way.
Note that if you've (re)purchased Mafia on Steam recently'ish and hence got the version without music, the patches might not work out of the box since the release is missing AB.dta. The original Game.exe's contain a hardcoded list of .dta files to mount and they refuse to start if one of them is missing. |

Thank you. I thought that I had a 1.2 patch back then (10 years ago) , but then it means that I had the 1.1,which was different, I remember, with the option of choosing the colours and music.
I will try to install the 1.1 patch then! |
