I was just wondering if there was a good source for high quality songs from the official soundtrack, or even just high quality versions of the licensed music?
There was no soundtrack ever released, was there?
The GOG and Steam versions use the same quality audio as the original?
I've not tried that licensed music mod someone made for the digital release of the game (since I don't own the game digitally, CDs FTW) but is that quality audio? Or, as good as it gets for 1930's recorded music...
I'm hoping the remake comes with a soundtrack, but obviously it won't be exactly the same.
Was hoping maybe the Mafia composer would release uncompressed versions online. Like how the GoldenEye N64 composer hosted them ~2015

Thanks for that! Great to hear that people still appreciate the music from the game. |

Hej, as an audio nerd, i tried and analized different sources,
i could not find anything higher quality for in game Score than files which are inside the game archieve.
However, when it comes to OST, all the Django sountracks, you can find much better sounding version, but please note that they are not exact same version, rather different interpretations or different versions |

Yeah its a real shame. I'll just wait for the new remake and see how much of the old score was carried over. Fingers crossed its all of it and more.
(it's certainly cheaper and quicker to re-use the same/similar songs) |

to be honest I'm not really sure that will be able to keep all the songs. Current versions available on Steam/GOG don't have city music in it due to licensing issues, means someone will have to pay for license making re-make...lets see, fingers crossed! _________________

I meant the original score/music, the licensed music doesn't bother me as much. It's great, don't get me wrong, there just isn't the same fidelity and enjoyment available for 90 year old recordings |
