Just a bit of fun, no structured tutorials but random
gameplay of Mafia: The City of Lost Heaven.
If you want to share yours please do, but
PLEASE do not hijack this thread this is for
all and only videos of Mafia 1 NOT II or
III.
My first is of Visiting Rich People
Quote: | Just a way to do this mission - Did not include
the briefing in Salieri's Bar and did not end with
the return to Salieri's Bar. |

My "visiting rich people" walkthrough is easily one of my most popular videos. I don't really understand why people would even need help with it, but it certainly is one of the great missions.
I of course have various other ones I recorded - mostly for Lost Heaven in 2004. I redid that walkthrough because of file damage or something, as well as more recently a "quick" Hotel Corleone. Yeah I think the river jump was more recent too. Maybe.
No short term MAFIA video plans here...there are a couple of things I want to do. One I sort of recorded an attempt but I think I might want to redo it. A 3GB file recorded 11-16. It's just over 1 minute. There you go. But it takes about 15-20 minutes to set up. Pain in the ass. What is it? You'll find out if I ever upload it
The other I've played with for a couple years now but still haven't done. Ought to be a beauty if I just get organized and do it...
The greatest adventures always happen when the camera is off. |

I'm sure I found at least one maybe two of your videos
I think there was the chase you did for Better Get Used
to It.. and did you not do a Chase and Manhunt as well
As I said in the Initial Post there are no structured tutorials
e.g. walkthroughs - I don't do them because I cheat in the
game (yeah I said it).. I just play for shits and giggles.
Anyway this next one is from a manual install of Mafia
on Windows 10. Sound cuts out intermittently but that
is the problem with Realtek High Definition Audio and
the o/s. Until Microsoft address this I am stuck with it.

Ah I do like going back to basics and seeing vanilla Mafia vids. I think the first one ever I saw was Muggy's driving around LH to 'Cantaloop' back in 2007, saved to PC from the downloads section and split into tiny archives to fit on multiple floppy disks (I had no internet back then) so I could take it home from my granddad's to watch it over and over
Back then, aged 12 and freshly-diagnosed ASD, I only possessed the demo and so explored/memorised every nook and cranny of 'city - small', dividing each area up into chunks to explore one-by-one every new 'drive to the parking garage' session before the timer ran out _________________

I love free-roaming during the missions. The atmosphere during missions like Happy Birthday and Just for Relaxation is just so relaxing and nostalgic. |

I think Paulie learnt his vehicle handling skills
off *Maureen Rees* from Driving School.

I knew that since Paulie was a slower driver than me, I'd always just zip over to Salieri's. I never thought anything interesting would happen with him. At one playthrough I made, the Model T was almost destroyed and he couldn't climb the road to go across the bridge. |

I don't know whether that was intentional or not, but a fun bit of trivia is that the Model T actually couldn't go up hills forward in real life. The Model T did not have a fuel pump, and the gas actually had to flow by gravity to the engine. When going uphill, the fuel would flow back into the gas tank, thus starving the engine of fuel and causing it to shut off. The only way you would be able to get it up a sharp hill is by driving it in reverse. Now imagine my surprise when I see Paulie driving up a hill in reverse! |

I love the zany bits of gameplay here showing the rare times in Mafia and scenarios you wouldn't expect. |
