I remember seeing this thread months ago and I hadn't heard of the game, then I saw an ad on Steam yesterday and it looked amazing.
Did some reading and saw the ex-2k staff involvement. No doubt the main guys poached some good people from Bohemia Interactive and Golden-era 2k Czech (Hidden & Dangerous 1 & 2, Mafia 1).

This is high on my wishlist, will give it some time to mature (and maybe time for a new computer for me! Shocked )
Hopefully this game boosts interest in Mount & Blade 2, another Medieval-sim on a small budget, but more sandbox.

Am getting this, just waiting for a price drop and once they've patched things up. Most seem to think the cutscenes are overly long, well that's perfect for me Very happy Will be a great world to explore.

Looks cool. I'm sort of bothered by the modern English, but, eh. I doubt my computer would run it though.

I basically have the same computer I had in 2011. Sad

Yes, I was also taken aback with the use of dialects
from British actors. And what also suprised me is that
although there are other languages for audio there is
no Czech; only in subtitles. Personally I would have
hoped that they had Czech/English speaking actors
at least it would have been OK in our language but
the accents would have made it more authentic.

However apart from this faux pas the game is
good.

Enjoying playing the game, however there are a few bugs that
need to be sorted out still. KC:D is definitely not your run of the
mill RPG and the levelling up takes a lot to learn. I have a long
way to go. As for anything special depends on the individual -
the graphics are good; though there are some glitches and
again bugs for example the item that is a linen shirt with red
buttons if open from the neck-line downwards the buttons are
left on the bare skin of the wearer; game breaking? Definitely
not. KC:D has potential to be a great game, but needs work
on patches/updates.

Now would I recommend this?

Well if you are willing to approach this with the mind
that this is not a fantasy RPG with magic powers that
do everything for you and you enjoy realism as far as
it can be, then yes!

An interesting two-part video showing places from
KCD in real life. They are in German but there are subtitles.

Part 1: Rattay

Part 2:Talmberk(Talmberg) and Sasau

more photos of the real life counterparts can be
seen on the KCD forum here
