Hi guys,
inside mafia I found some interesting stuffs. I want to ask you about them.
Biff Subquest
Inside mission Better Get Used to It are some hidden lines with deactivated script. When you activate it, the biff only say in Czech Slyšel jsem, že tvůj kámoš dobře řídí. That means "I hear, your buddy is good in driving". And after this string subquest stops. Did someone knows anything about it?
Debug text
Here at the end of the script I found script

This debug text is the same debug text which you can see on second picture from video Mafia - Development team. Can this debug text be reactivated?

Inside Mafia.exe you are able to find this window/dialog. You can enter password inside it. How to activate this window or force the game to show it? And when it show, have this window some function? Here is script from

Moreover, there are several autosave slots that don't seem to be used - Tony: Subquest and Biff: Subquest (during Better Get Used to It and Omerta missions, I believe). Seems like the creators had an idea to make subquests for these characters (and after you do them - you get the crucial information for the mission), but probably cancelled it later on. |

I found this a while back, too. In the text/sound files you can see that a few lines have been removed.
Even when I played the game for the first time I thought the intonation of Biff's last line 'Sure, take it easy boys!' sounded odd after Paulie's line. Turns out it was because there was meant to be other dialogue in between
As a side note, the engine debug information in the top left corner of that screen can also be seen in some of the savegame thumbnails (Mission 4 - Salieri Bar, for instance). _________________

Did you mean this image AsaSK?
I have another question. Is some chance, if I find official US version of this game, can we find inside more stuff's unlike EU version? In US was mafia released 27 August 2002. European version 6. September 2002. Is there any possibility that developers have failed to remove so many things unlike European ones?

I do, yeah. Hmm I doubt it, I would have thought the most stuff would have been in the Czech version, although I once heard the German version has a few things that other versions don't have (I can't remember what exactly). I think the release order was just because 2K/GOD were based in the US, so they got it first. As it happens, I don't think the line 'I hear your buddy's good at driving' exists in the English version, only in the Czech.
In the US version (same as the UK version, I assume) Tommy has some cut lines that the enemy's say ('Here you are', 'Now you die', etc) - I don't know if they're in the CZ version.
What Mammix found is from textdb_en.txt. I found some more, too:

So, everything what left inside files about subquests are some lines of script inside Biff and some text strings in textdb_en.txt? Is somewhere some interview, screenshot or video with working subquest? I really want to know, how it should work and what you need to do in this.
To the cut US lines 'Here you are', 'Now you die' are in not cutted from CZ version.

At one point I was on a pointless quest to catalog every sound. It's interesting, though. Many unused takes are present, including dialogue that isn't in the game at all.
Then one fateful day I deleted my desktop and there the project died.
It gives you a little window into the world of voice acting. |

Are still inside these sounds leftovers from amateur dubbing? Or something special?
I know it might be long ago and you forgot everything.

No, they're professional. Probably about 90% are different versions of existing sounds, and 10% are not even in the game. It is amazing how much work putting together this kind of game was.
I want to say today it would be easier due to commercial development environments; sort of like VB for games, but that's just my supposition.
Just check your sounds folder until you're bored  |
