Yeah, I always have to laugh when people would kill to get into an open beta. Since 2012, every game releases in a beta stage. Saves the devs the trouble and money when having to hire actual paid beta testers.

How does the driving feel compared to Mafia 2? Some people say the cars feel heavy but as far as I've seen, none of the footage corresponds with that claim. Mafia 2 truly had that heavy feel to those cars while all I'm seeing or hearing from Mafia 3 is screeching tires and itchy camera movement with every turn you make.

Are those people really right regarding the driving or are they paid to praise a flawed system?

The driving physics in Mafia 2 are the best of all time .

I think Mafia 2 had the almost perfect realistic driving physics .

In Mafia 3 , thats very different , the car starts slidin for a very little steerin .

After a few hours i noticed something .
What if we can turn off that camera moves in every damn corner , it will be more realistic . But thats just my thought .

Oh yeah you also can switch between simulation or normal .

the normal is = you going around 60mp/h , corner comes , u hit the brake = you crash

or corner comes , u hit the handbrake = you crash

BUT the simulation is = corner comes , hit the brake also the handbrake (maybe you can hit it twice in the corner) and the car goes driftin very hard and it got a good feelin it . Just sliden driftin those big muscle cars around tight corners .
Its good feelin but you know inside , its not so realistic .
You feel it thats not how it works in real life Very happy

But looks good Applause

So thats all , i prefer the simulation mode in driving .

Tha cars are feel heavy ??

Mh , maybe you are right in Mafia 2 you can almost feel the cars weight .

But in here Mafia 3 i don't feel that , its different .
Sometimes i feel im slidin on oil in Mafia 3 .

Driving in Mafia III is exaggerated tbh you
only have to press the forward key a little
and the wheels are screeching turn a corner
slowly and they screech. This is all this
idea of a cinematic experience which imho
is stupid; if I wanted a cinema experience
I would go and see a film at a cinema.

On another note about the game I want
to play a game not have everything done
for me - e.g. you get to a certain point in
a story quest and the end result of what
you should have achieved is a cutscene
rather than you having to actually perform
the final task and if you fail having to
start that mission again.

its such a shame to see this game be even lower than some of our low expectations.
I will get it eventually, maybe in December or in the new year. Hopefully a strong community can rebuild what the developer won't.
I felt Mafia 2 ditched many characteristic traits of Mafia 1 for what ever was trendy for open-world games in 2007-2009, and it seems Mafia 3 has ditched even more subtleties and features to be GTA meets Assassins Creed Sad

Finally finished it today. It's a good game and a slight disappointment as a MAFIA game, alot of good to great pieces but as a whole it's kind of a mess. Just too far removed from the rest of the series. Hoping for a 4'th in the future.

Positives:

-When the story is on point, it's great.
-Characters
-Soundtrack
-Combat
-Story Length
-New Bordeaux
-Vito Smile

I'd rate it like this;
1 10/10
2 9/10
3 7.5/10

Thanks for sharing your experiences guys.
Worth a Buy's review has also been released, and it was exactly what I wanted to hear. Unsalted pros and cons.

Just because the storyline seems worth the effort and the atmosphere seems done properly I'll give it a go but I'll wait a few weeks first before the game is properly patched and perhaps when the first mods are out that finish the developer's job. Hopefully it will be available at a lower price (below 30,-) as well somewhere.
I only pay full price for the full experience. With that I mean polish. The kind that GTA V has.

In the meantime I still got Fallout 4 to finish. Sticking out tongue

Yeah, probably I realistically should have waited but hey
I too can hopefully wait for the mods to come in and hopefully
Hangar13 will release a patch to improve the textures especially
and not only so them damned awful sky-boxes; they look like
very cheap concept art. Btw WaB' review now up in reviews
topic.

[Edit] Having had some time to play Mafia III, again
I will not change my opinion that this is not a true
Mafia game, but as for the story as a game about
organized crime it is pretty damned good. However
it caters too much to the pimple brigade and to
a younger generation that do not want to work
at progressing in a game but have as Mr R said
their hands held and be given sweeties called DLC.

On a note of its release, usually I would say
something like "I told you so" due to consoles
normally getting a better deal in performance
as consoles go - but having read comments on
other sites where even on consoles the game
plays (not all) like sh*t - 2K should never have
released the game until it was in a good state
to do so.

Mafia 3 vs. Mafia 2

It almost looks like the game will actually prevent the player from dying in a car crash.

Fun fact: safety belts were not required in cars until 1968.

Also, check out the other videos recently uploaded by the same account if you want to see some quick comparisons of all the Mafia games (thus far).

I think that Mafia II v Mafia III youtube vid
has been doing the rounds on the intrawebs.

A thought now on the release. I still believe
the publishers (who are the ones who release
games or say when they will be released
) to
meet deadlines, should have waited until the
devs Hangar13 had done some final touches
and made sure the game was fit for release.
Yes I do blame the publishers, but I also
blame the impatience of the "Release it
NOW already goddam!"
'brigade' the
"I want it now!" - well you or should
I say we who purchased the game got it
NOW, and got what we deserved an unfinished
product that still requires a lot of tuning and
polish.
