Some time ago back in the day there
was a thread in the old Mafia Scene
which showed how to remove the
HUD especially the fuel gauge and
rpm needles.
I remember vaguely that you had
to change some numbers by hex
editor in the game.exe but for the
life of me I cannot remember how
this is done.
Any help with this would be gratefully
appreciated.

2411792 speed
2411836 tacho
2411880 fuel
u see there value 0D1374FF - it is BGRA. change it to 00000000 (or A=00) |

OH! problem is the game.exe in the steam version
does not have these values and I cannot find a
crack that works with steam.

Well i just know memory address of HUD in 1.2 version (also steam).
It's byte 0x006C3A24. Set value to 1 and you will have no hud. |

In cheat engine. Run mafia, open game.exe process, add this address (byte), and after adding it change value to 1 |

Managed to get the game installed from iso images
and using a fixed game.exe with which I used a
hex editor and removed the speed; tacho; and fuel.
Now with this in mind is it possible to find the
hex number for the mission timer that is the
opening scene where you have to get Paulie
and Sammy away from their pursuers, Running
Man, and Fairplay where you have to get the
racing car from the city track - I now have
no HUD with Tommy Interface Invisible
(did not use the models) but did put in the
tga and other files from the maps folder of
this mod. If the timer can be found can I
do the same as with the other elements
and make this disappear.  _________________
