These two pictures are supposed to be of Salvatorre Maranzano, one of the two Dons involved in the Castellammare war ( the other being Joe "The Boss" Massaria) which eventually led to the rise Of Luciano and The Commission

I have always had a problem with the picture on the left because the guy looks too affable and not really Italian where as the picture on the right....that guy looks like the self important kind of son of a ***** who would call himself Capo di tutti Capo. They are supposed to same guy and there are similarities. The mark on the forehead, the shape of the eyes, the lip divot, the chin

but the ears, the brows and the hairline(which can change) look different...so I thought I'd throw this out for discussion same guy?

Oh hmm not sure how to approach this, but apparently
according to a source the photos which have been going
around of Maranzano are not Maranzano but of a
Maltese/Sicilian based criminal called Salvatore Messina who
along with his brothers dominated London's underworld
during the interwar and post WWII years. Their father
was Sicilian and their mother was Maltese.

as for the picture on the right with what looks like steps
behind him I am not sure if that is actually Maranzano, as
it does look like it has been superimposed on that
background. Thinking Although it does look like a retouched
proported sketch done of Salvatore Maranzano

Interesting thought though. Thinking

Now in addition to this the photos showing Maranzano's body
after he was shot do not seem to match the photo (right)
if you can make out his face (covered in blood) in them.
