Whow, we're back in action!
Somebody needs to announce the first mod here again.
Once upon a time back on September 11th 2006 I announced a project on this very website called "The Titanic Mod"
Due to my misjudged progressing time the mod took a bit longer to develop.
Let's all have a minute silence for the old topic..........
Heck, who am I kidding
Ladies, and gentlemen, I am Mr Robville and I shall present to you:
The Titanic Mod
Probably the longest ongoing and largest Mafia mod being made.
It features a full scale replica of the ship including almost the entire interior aswell.
There's a whole new storyline involving the original characters aswell as new ones. Everything will be voice acted.
You can roam around the entire vessel and it will eventually sink as well.
When will it release?
When it's done.
There's a whole mod page here: www.moddb.com/mods/mafia-titanic-mod
It once started as a one man project, but let's not confuse, these people help me making it all possible:
Casting
Tommy Angelo - Arjen van Zwienen
Paulie - Brandon Gallaher
Mr. Salieri - Curtis Wilson
Wilkinson - Tony
Calvony - Dylan
Parov - Steff Chapchoy
Sam - John Vredeveld
Captain Smith - Alex Wallace
Vincienzo - Alex Wallace
Louigi - Jan Chavaja
Officers - Jason Hatcher, Andrew Bennison, Gordon Davies
Villains - Nick Redfield
General Steward - Christopher
Passengers - Daniel, Mikael, Andrew Bennison, Nick Redfield, Zachary Ronan
Russian Passengers - Vladimir Kozubsky
General crewmember - John Rogers
3D artists
Robin Bongaarts
Kyle Hudak
Lead Storyline Programmer
Asa Skinner
Lead Graphics Programmer
Tomáš Růžička
Programmer
Geran McAdam Smith
Soundtrack composed by
Ronnie Scholtes
Weapons Modelling
Marco
ENB Series configurated by
Dr.Eviltag
It is only a part from the credits of people who are currently or recently active on the mod's production. The whole list is quite longer.
I think this is a bit more suitable announcement than the one I posted back in 2006

I remember the old announcement and the ambitious news of building a full scale replica of the Titanic complete with interior. I also remember thinking it would never happen once you realised what an undertaking this would be but I've watched the progress over the years and it just amazes me each time! Wonderful work! |

Yeah I don't blame people for not believing in it back then. Luckely there rarely exists a developer who really proceeds the progress despite the time and effort it requires
It will be finished eventually. I soon want to start with preparations for a much larger project which will need my full attention. So there is some pressure on me right now having me to get it released soon. But it's still too early to throw around release dates. But no matter how it goes, this get's finished first!
If I only knew how long progress would take |

Thanks
Just for chits'n giggles, let's have a fair comparison with the old footage from 2006-2009 and the latest work. Some images are renders.

Amazing, and to think a game engine as old as it is can live up to this quality you would not think that this is for a 10+ year old game... |

Really is stunning to see the difference. The detail is nothing short of a work of art
In the last picture the wood has a sort of bump mapped effect, how did you achieve this? _________________

I have no clue to be honest. Tomáš, Nicknamed Djbozkosz knows extremely well how to play with the graphics. He applied some kind of environmental reflection onto it. Ingame it indeed appears to be bump mapped but I believe mafia's engine is not capable of supporting that.
On the other hand, LS3D shouldn't be capable of ambient occlussion, motion blur, dynamic sun rays and bloom effects neither. _________________

Well whatever it is and however its done it certainly helps bring that extra bit of realism to your model The detail present in your model makes it the finest graphics I've seen in Mafia. _________________
