the whole point to FRAPS was it's the only program that can get screenshots of MAFIA. Does dxtory work?

Doesn't the PrintScreen key do the job? Beyond that, buy yourself a cheap-but-brilliant program like Fraps or Dxtory.

The only thing I've noticed so far is omnipresent microstuttering which is however only really noticeable if one focuses a moving point on screen.

I think you're describing exactly what I'm getting ...

The 'stream_create' command only works with .OGG, 'playsound' works for .WAVs, .MP3 isn't supported AFAIK.
