That’s right chaps, Steam are offering you the chance to pre-purchase Mafia II over Steam right now! They have 2 options available, the regular version for £29.99 and the digital deluxe version which costs £10 more. What’s more, if you pre-order, they’ll give you a copy of the original for no extra cost!
Interstingly they’re also saying that the game can be linked up to the Steamworks service (meaning your settings and savegames can be stored on Steam servers as well as your HDD for easy muti-machine gaming), and perhaps more tellingly, will also have leaderboards. Quite what those leaderboards are for, or how that will work I’m not sure to be honest, but it’ll certainly be interesting to find out!
If you havn’t already ordered elsewhere in the hopes that Steam would get ahold of the game, today is your lucky day! Just fire up your Steam client and you should get an update screen with a link to the offer. For those of you who don’t use Steam but are still interested, details can be found on the Steam website.
